After completing The Reivers Way walk in Northumberland, we took a train from Alnmouth to Edinburgh. After a relaxing day in lovely Edinburgh, we hired a car and drove to the northwest highlands of Scotland. Our driving route overlapped with our 2002 walking route along the West Highland Way, beginning at Crianlarich, past the Bridge of Orchy, through the pass of Glencoe, on to Fort William. Though the highlands weren't a "walking" holiday, the sights taken in on short walks and while touring by car were so spectacular, we decided to post them on our website. The highlands offer endless opportunities for spectacular walks, which we are now researching to plan a future long distance route!
