Fair Wind Cruise from Keauhou Bay:

The Fair Wind crew offer an outstanding 4-hour snorkeling trip, including a BBQ lunch

Relaxing on the deck of the Fair Wind II, a luxurious custom-made catamaran

The cruise goes from Keauhou Bay to Kealakekua Bay, site of pristine snorkeling

Approaching Captain Cook Monument on Kealakekua Bay

A Red Urchin hides in the coral, with colorful Wrasses

Threadfin Butterfly Fish typically swim in pairs

A large but shy Moray Eel slides into a rock hole

Colorful Yellow Tang feed on the abundant cauliflower coral

The spiny Black Urchin should be avoided!

View of Kealakekua Bay as the Fair Wind departs for Keauhou

Spinner Dolphins joined us as we left the bay

Wai'opae Tidepools, Puna:

These amazing tidepools are just south of Kapoho Bay, and not to be missed

The coral is particularly beautiful here; wear reef shoes to walk between the tidepools
(never step on coral, only the lava rock, or you will kill the live coral)

Butterfly Fish and Wrasses hide under a rock ledge

Stunning blue coral

Threadfin Butterfly Fish

A Moorish Idol floats past
