Mount Tamalpais State Park (Matt Davis, Dipsea, Steep Ravine Trails: 7 miles)

Moss covered bay trees and boulders line the Matt Davis Trail (site today of a 100k run!)

Waterfalls crossed the path in many places, following late spring rains

The Matt Davis trail emerges into a large meadow; the view here is to the south

Another view from the same spot, looking west

The meadows were filled with wildflowers

Beginning our descent to Stinson Beach, with much of the path through fir forest

The dense canopy encourages the growth of many ferns and moss on the trees

Forget-me-not line the path

The DipseaTrail provides good views back to Stinson Beach

Sections of the Steep Ravine Trail are steps carved from the rock

Thanks to late rains, the streams are high and provide ample flow for many waterfalls

The Steep Ravine Trail winds through mature redwood and bay trees

The walk today was made more delightful by the constant sound of rushing water

Another waterfall

A ladder is necessary to get over this massive boulder
