Point Reyes National Seashore (Sky, Woodward Valley, Coast, Bear Valley, and Meadow Trails, 15.5 miles)

We set out on the Sky Trail, which is lined in early spring with Forget-me-not

Moss covered bay trees overhang the Sky Trail

As we emerge from the woods, we're rewarded with expansive views of Double Point

Descending the Woodward Valley Trail, we also have great views of Limantour Beach

An unsettling reminder that we are in the earthquake rift zone!

Douglas iris are now in full bloom on the coastal bluffs, including here at our lunch spot

From our picnic spot, we had a dramatic view north above Sculptured Beach...

...and the view south from this spot is dramatic as well

Beginning our return on the Bear Valley Trail, along the banks of Coast Creek

Axis and Fallow deer often graze in the late afternoon

Enjoying a tea break at Divide Meadow

Interesting fungus on a rotting tree stump along the shaded Meadow Trail

The aptly named Meadow Trail emerges onto this large open space

As the fog rolls back in, it creates an interesting silhouette across Inverness Ridge
